REPTILES
Reptiles (Reptilia) are vertebrates (has a back bone) reptiles include alligators, lizards crocodiles and turtles, they are distinguished, by having hard scaly skin that sheds regularly and most lay soft shelled eggs. Unlike most animals reptiles are not warm blooded which means they can't maintain constant body heat in cooler times of the year they become not as active as they are in warmer times of the year. Boa's and Pythons are the only reptiles that give birth to live young, otherwise they lay eggs in simple nests and leave them until they hatch, months later. The soil temperature is critical at this time it determines how many male or females there are.

Many reptiles such as the black headed python have black somewhere to help absorb body heat
